Where Can I Find Available REO Property?
Updated 24 days ago (March 6, 2026)
The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has a list of available REO properties. These foreclosed properties were typically purchased through an FHA-backed loan.
You can also find REO property through other government mortgage-backers, such as the VA, the USDA, and the IRS. Finally, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac also list REO properties. You can access each entity's list through that entity's website.
Finally, mortgage lenders themselves may have their own lists of REO properties for sale. You can check with larger lenders, such as banks, to see if they independently list and sell REO property.
