What are REITs?

REITs are Real Estate Investment Trusts. REITs allow investors to purchase shares in commercial real estate portfolios, which include hotels, apartment complexes, and warehouses. In return, investors receive income derived from rents and leases on the properties. This income is distributed as dividends to investors.
